Church Of Sound Live Session w/ Momoko Gill

Church of Sound 10周年を記念したライブプログラムが日本で特別開催。

ヘッドライナーにモモコ・ギル（Momoko Gill）を迎え、Hanna Inui、清水光一（Koichi Shimizu）、松丸契（Kei Matsumaru）、堀京太郎（Kyotaro Hori）といった日本のミュージシャンによる一夜限りのスペシャル編成で演奏します。

モモコ・ワタナベ・ギル（Momoko Watanabe Gill）は、ロンドンを拠点に活動する作曲家、プロデューサー、ソングライター、ミュージシャン。

ドラムとボーカルを中心に、キーボードやビブラフォンなども演奏します。日本、アメリカ、イギリスで育った彼女の音楽は、多文化的な背景と、オープンで協調的な制作・パフォーマンスのアプローチに裏打ちされています。

2016年にロンドンで設立されたChurch of Soundは、ミュージシャン同士を一堂に集め、既存の音楽的伝統を解釈し直しながら行う一夜限りのライブパフォーマンスを中心に活動してきました。

今回の開催にあたり、モモコは本レジデンスのために特別に結成された日本のミュージシャンたちを率います。このパフォーマンスは、Church of Soundのロンドンでの活動と、日本のミュージシャンや音楽コミュニティとの間で新たな交流を生み出し、これまでの協調的なアプローチを新たな文脈で展開するものです。

本セッションは、感性を刺激する体験型プロジェクト「Analog Market 」のプログラムの一環として開催されます。会場となる「Listening Room」は、Audio-Technica、VDS、SKWATの3者による特別なリスニング体験を提供する空間です。

Church of Sound brings a special live programme to Japan to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

The evening features a special headline performance by Momoko Gill, joined by a one-off custom lineup of Japanese musicians — Hanna Inui, Koichi Shimizu, Kei Matsumaru and Kyotaro Hori.

Born Momoko Watanabe Gill, Momoko is a London-based composer, producer, songwriter and musician whose practice centres around drums and voice, while extending across keyboards, vibraphone and beyond. Having grown up between Japan, the US and UK, her music is informed by a mixed cultural background and an open, collaborative approach to making and performing.

Founded in London in 2016, Church of Sound has built its programme around bringing musicians together for one-off live performances, often reinterpreting and responding to existing musical traditions.

For this edition, Momoko leads a newly assembled band of musicians based in Japan, brought together especially for the residency. The performance continues Church of Sound’s collaborative approach in a new context, creating an exchange between its London programme and the musicians and musical community in Japan.

The session takes place in the Listening Room, an immersive listening environment developed by SKWAT in collaboration with Audio-Technica and VDS, presented as part of Analog Market 2026
